So, I want to share about someone who did not remain just a teacher but also as a guardian and leading light to a place where i stand today. I met him about a decade back in the year we were preparing for the so called iron gate, the SLC.He was Nepali teacher by profession.His passion of teaching and Nepalese language and literature was so fascinating that motivated me and all my friends that let rebirth of fascination for reading in us which was dead for long. But as a person, he has been an angel for me.
I was born in a very disturbed family crushed with the worst unimaginable level of poverty, addiction of alcohol in parents, childhood traumas and so on.But i was searching for a light that would show me the golden way out of the hell i was being burnt in.But that was, at that time, just a fantasy for me. I was working hard and even smart to locate that glimpse of hope that i would be out of such a worst life. After SLC, i wanted to come to Kathmandu to study science to open a way to reach the highest profession to prove that i had a chance given as i was born.
But coming to reality, i had just a fantasy as i said before.My father and mother were dragging their alcohol addicted life struggling even to feed my other three siblings with zero income.And during a program where SLC passers were called, he promised that he would lead to find best college and support for my higher study.And the rays of light shown in my despair.Ever since then, he has been continuously supporting me financially and emotionally. I do not know why he would help me this much when he has own children to look up to. But without him, i would never be here. He encouraged me when i almost gave up. He gave me courage to maintain resilience despite many obstacles. I regret one thing that i have not been able to thank him enough and maybe, i will never be able to. I do not know what i can give him back.
But he has been an angel for me in my darkness. I hope there are many more people like him. May god always bless him. And by the way, now i am Nepal Medical Council (NMC) registered doctor.I have completed MBBS and currently working as a Medical Officer at basic hospital of my own village.
